32 weeks and 6 days pregnant!! (and it's my birthday!!)

It's been an eventful week, so much so that I haven't had much time to talk about it. My apologies to Brigitte, who I keep meaning to call, and then you know, I don't. Sorry, and I love you. :)

Tuesday afternoon we went to an indoor play space called The Children's Storefront. It was our first time there and I'm so excited that we went. Not only are all the mommies and staff there great, all the kids are loads of fun too, and Richard was running around like he owned the place after just an hour. It's always funny when we end up somewhere new and people notice how polite Richard is. I've never met a child before that says things like 'why thank you for saying you're welcome'! It's so sweet! So we played there for a couple of hours and then as we were headed back to the bus, we passed a cute coffee shop. Richard asked if we could stop for a hot chocolate. I think it's adorable the way he saunters down the street with his little cup of hot chocolate, looking so much like a little man with a coffee. So we go in and order his hot chocolate, and as I'm getting the lid on it a plaque on the wall catches my eye and I see that Daniel Cook has been there. I told Richard and he freaked out. He ran over to the manager and asked him all about what had happened when Daniel Cook was there and once he got the whole story he was happy.

Then we got on the bus to the subway, and headed to the Spadina library where we met a very nice little boy and his mommy. We chatted with them while we picked out our books and headed home.

Wednesday we stayed home and made oatmeal cookies! They were actually oatmeal-raisin cookies, but I'm not about to ruin a good cookie with raisins, you know? Richard is turning out to be quite the baker. He used to love helping me when he was smaller, but now that he actually 'gets' it, it's even more exciting to bake and cook with him.

Thursday I had an appointment with my OB-GYN and we got to hear the baby's heartbeat! It was a good appointment, we found out the baby's heart and lungs are strong and that if I go in to labor early, my doc is not worried about it. This is such a HUGE relief. I am now almost 33 weeks along, and Richard was born at 36 and a half weeks, so there is a real chance we're going to go early. I'm a little nervous about that, but mostly excited now that my doc has calmed me down some.

My mother called first thing this morning to wish me a happy birthday and to surprise me! She was here in under an hour with the baby's crib! A couple of weeks ago when my mother, sister, Richard and I all went out to get Richard's Halloween photos done at Sears, I pointed out this crib and told them both how much I loved it and voila, here it is, in my hallway. I'm so excited to get it together!
